Ministry funded Project

The project is led by the PI Silvia Bolgherini and it consists of three research units: 1. Perugia Unit; 2. Siena Unit; 3. Macerata Unit.

The Perugia Unit comprises the PI Silvia Bolgherini and Alessandro Campi.

Silvia Bolgherini is the PI and Associate professor at the University of Perugia where she teaches International Relations. She is an expert in local government, local and regional elections, and local policies.

The Siena Unit comprises Linda Basile, the head of the Unit, and Francesco Marangoni.

Linda Basile is the head of Siena Unit and Assistant professor at the University of Siena where she teaches Research Design and Quantitative methods. She is an expert on decentralization and regionalism.

The Macerata Unit comprises Selena Grimaldi, the head of the Unit, and Gianfranco Baldini.

Selena Grimaldi is the head of Macerata Unit and  Assistant professor at the University of Macerata where she teaches Political Science and Communication and Political Language. She is an expert on sub-national political elites and regional and local elections.

Other people recruited for the Project:

Giorgia Borgnino is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Siena. Her research interests include parties and coalitions in government, elections, electoral manifestos, and campaign promises.

Francesca Antonella Prete is research assistant at the University of Perugia. She got a Master Degree in Politics, Administration, Territory with a master thesis on corruption red flags. Research interests: politics, institutions, local government, legality and participation.

In this project, the gender balance principle is more than respected as the research team comprises 60 percent of women and 40 percent of men and all leadership roles are covered by women.
